Dear Women of Sugarmill Woods,
As we feel the slight chill in the air after the New Year, some of us are reminded of the cold weather from the North. Many come down to escape the cold winters by visiting Florida, desperately trying to keep warm. One way to keep warm is to stay active. Studies have shown that individuals who remain active and involved socially tend to have improved mental and physical well-being. Well, if that is the case, the WSW for 2012 must be the most well being women in Florida!
Don’t be afraid to get involved! I was initially shocked when I was nominated for Presidency, I would never have considered that I could have done this very important job without the help of the many great ladies of WSW. I would like to thank the Board, the committees, the volunteers, and the membership for all that they do for our organization.
On the note of keeping active, our Golf Tournament Committee has been working endlessly to prepare for the 16th Annual ―School‖astic Golf Tournament on February 27. This event is a great opportunity for members to socialize, participate in our Chinese auction, and Tee off with friends. You don’t have to play golf to attend; we are all friends here! Let’s support each other. (Further information on ways to participate in this special fund raising event can be found in the Newsletter.)
Now that we have your physical activity for the month, here is some mental exercise for us! The Nominating Committee will be inviting our members to consider a role as a Board Member for the 2012-2013 club years. Our membership is made up of women who are lawyers, educators,
As for updates for the rest of the month, please note that we WILL NOT be having any luncheons for February and March. The next luncheon will be on April 23rd at Glen Lakes. However, we will still be having activities during these months! On both February 20th and March 19th we will be having Military Cards and this is another great way for our members to get together and have fun! (Further information can be found in this newsletter.)

The one thing we all have in common is we are all great women with great minds and plenty of experience. So please consider taking a more active role in our organization. We all play so many roles in our lives, and lending the skills we have acquired to the WSW will insure its success.
And finally, I would like to wish all of you a very Happy Valentines Day, and hope that this day of caring finds you all celebrating our admiration for one another.
